Grontmij Carries out Training Programmes for Africans, Asians and Latin Americans

Training programmes in Electricity Distribution Management (EDM) aim at providing know-how in the field of electricity distribution, including rural electrification.

Areas related to transmission and national system planning are also covered, as well as financing, management, organisation and small-scale generation like wind, hydro and bio fuel. Environmental and social aspects are considered.

For the 5th time, Grontmij has been commissioned by Sida to be organizers. Our first EDM programme was carried out starting 2007 and this one, EDM 2011, stretches until 2013.

Each programme includes training in Sweden, a regional seminar in one of the participants’ home countries and two years of mentor support to the participants’ Change Projects.

The Change Project is a main part of the programme and the participants shall be able to implement it in his/her home country.
